Audit of Local Safeguarding Children's Boards in the North East - Parental Substance Misuse
This work was commissioned by the Government Office North East in March 2010.
This regional report is a follow-on from a national piece of work which was commissioned by the Department for Children, Schools & Families and the National Treatment Agency. The national work was an audit of all LSCBs across the UK, specifically exploring their work around parental substance misuse.
The purpose of the national work was to design, administer and analyse a national survey to assess to what extent LSCBs across the country prioritise the agenda concerning children affected by parental substance misuse (drugs and alcohol).
The purpose of this report and the specific regional work was to extract the relevant findings for the North East region to help inform regional understanding of LSCB activity in relation to parental substance misuse.
