Occasional Paper No 15 - Lifestyle Risk Factor Measurement in the North East
The publications of the Wanless Report and Choosing Health have again emphasised the paucity of good local level data on lifestyle risk factors e.g., smoking, obesity, physical activity, diet, alcohol and drug misuse. These are now needed to plan and monitor many important public health interventions at many geographic levels.
This paper outlines current sources of lifestyle risk factor information, along with comments on their applicability at local level and possible future options for obtaining lifestyle risk factor information.
