Working Together on Coronary Heart Disease in Northern & Yorkshire
This report, published in November 2001, focuses on the inequalities that exist in coronary heart disease and aims to:
- Explain what coronary heart disease is
- Identify the scale of the problem and determine what can be done about it now
- Describe recent trends in CHD and highlight concerns for our region compared to other regions - nationally and internationally, variations within our region compared to equivalents elsewhere,
- Suggest what data systems are needed in our region, compared with what actually exist at present, and hence identify gaps which need to be filled;
- Propose what steps should be taken by the PHO itself, and what should be done by others;
- Help the community make best use of that data which is already available (via CD-ROM); and
- Look ahead and describe how the challenge of CHD will differ in the future and what we should do about it.
