e-Learning Instructions

A certified, e-learning training module to support the effective use of the TOP in the North East

This web based training resource is open to anyone involved in substance misuse treatment and is intended to support clinical practice, to improve the service user outcome and benefit professional learning. A certificate is provided for those completing all sections of the module successfully.

An alternative version of the information available in this resource can be obtained on both the North East NTA and PHO websites www.nta.nhs.uk and http://www.nepho.org.uk under the title of The North East Treatment Outcomes Profile (TOP) Training Reference document.

This may be more suitable for those wishing to refresh their understanding or check guidance for individual concerns, rather than having to complete all the sections of the training module. Some people may find it helpful to have a hard copy of this document whilst completing the e-learning module; this can be obtained by accessing the document as above and selecting the print option.

How to complete the module

To complete the module will take approximately 4-5 hours in one sitting but each section can be read and tested individually, in the order they appear. You may wish to sit the whole module in one go and keep the information fresh in your mind or alternatively schedule in shorter periods of time in your diary to complete it section by section. People with different roles may find some sections more relevant than others to their day-to-day operations, however, it is felt that it is beneficial that there is a full understanding of how to deliver a TOP as well as what, how and where to find the resulting analysis.

Register

Anyone wishing to sit the module will need to be registered with the NEPHO website. If you have not done so yet, then please follow this link:

http://www.nepho.org.uk/register.php

How Long will it take?

Please read each section and then complete the short true or false type section which follows. If all questions are answered correctly, then it will be possible to either pause and come back to the module another time or continue to study the next section. Whether or not all questions are answered correctly, you will be shown the questions again with full context and further details. If some questions have been answered incorrectly, then you will be advised which ones are wrong (highlighted in red).

You will have 28 days from the day you commence the module to complete it for certification purposes.

Certificate

A personalised certificate will be issued when all sections, including your course evaluation have been completed.

This certificate will include a percentage score of how many questions were answered correctly.
